The CSIR UGC NET (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test) is a prestigious examination conducted in India to determine the eligibility of candidates for the role of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Lecturership (Assistant Professor) in various universities and colleges. Organized by the CSIR, this test aims to assess the research and teaching aptitude of candidates in the fields of Science and Technology.

The CSIR UGC NET is held twice a year and covers five primary subjects: Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences. There is no upper age limit for applying as an Assistant Professor.
